MURREN, SWITZERLAND

MURRENBAHN (GARAVENTA) - Built in 2006 to replace one of the worlds oldest funiculars. It departs
from the original station in Lauterbrunnen and terminates at the Grutschalp station of the Murrenbahn
mountain railway. The tram is alos used for the transportation of goods up to car free mountainside town of Murren.
The last picture shows the inclined crane that removes loads from the tram and brings them up to the
Murrenbahn rail cars. You can see remains of the original stone funicular in many of the pictures.


SCHILTHORNBAHN, SECTION 1 STECHELBERG-GIMMELWALD, (VON ROLL) - Built in 1965, this tram was overhauled
in 1986 and again in 1995. This section links the valley floor with the village of Gimmelwald. built by Gangloff.


SCHILTHORNBAHN, SECTION 3 MURREN-BIRG, (VON ROLL) - Built in 1965 this is one of two trams featured in
James Bond "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." The tram has been retrofitted with new cabins
built by Gangloff.


SCHILTHORNBAHN, SECTION 4 BIRG-SCHILTHORN, (VON ROLL) - Built in 1967 this is the primary tram featured in
James Bond "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." The revolving restaurant at the summit was used as Blofelt's
"Alery Clinic" where he was training beautiful women to take over the world. The tram has been retrofitted with
a new cabin by Gangloff. This is one of the most breath taking experiences in the world.
