Ski Plattekill Expects to Sign Partner SAM Magazine--Roxbury, N.Y., July 21, 2000--To complete
the replacement of what is considered one of the highest and longest continually-rising T-bars
operating in the United States, the owners of Ski Plattekill Mountain Resort said today they expect
to sign a partnership agreement with an investor by the end of the month. The plan is to install a
Hall double, purchased from neighboring Belleayre Mountain Ski Center, in place of the infamous 1961
Hall T-bar. The Hall double will have a line length of 3,300 feet and climb about 1,100 vertical feet
to the peak, effectively increasing the areaís total vertical by about 100 feet. Laszlo Vajtay, Plattekill's
owner and president, said half the needed money has been raised by selling $1,000, five-year season passes
to the faithful. The rest, he says, will come from another source. ìI feel confident about raising the money
because Iíve gotten good feelings from several sources weíve been talking to,î said Vajtay today as he was
preparing a business plan. He says heís looking to sign a deal with someone or a group interested in a 33
percent share of the resort for a minimum of $1 million.
